Privacy Policy
Starch Development ("we", "us") is an independent software studio based in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal data across our website and our products. Each product also has its own privacy policy covering the data it collects — for our game Potato Quest, see the Potato Quest Privacy Policy.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at contact@starchdevelopment.com.
1. Scope
This document covers this website (starchdevelopment.com) and studio-level contact with us. Data handled inside a specific product is described in that product's own privacy policy, linked above and from the page footer.
2. Data we collect
- This website. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on this site, and we don't use cookies to profile visitors. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) for security and reliability. Signing in to the studio admin area — which is restricted to authorised staff — sets a session cookie solely to keep that session active.
- If you contact us. When you email us we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, so we can respond.
- Product deletion requests. If you submit a deletion request through the Potato Quest account & data deletion page, we process the details you provide to verify ownership and action the request.
We do not collect more than is needed to operate our website and respond to you.
3. Why we collect it
- To operate, secure, and maintain this website.
- To respond to your enquiries and support or deletion requests.
- To meet our legal obligations.
4. Third parties
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting that backs our products and the deletion-request handling.
Product-specific third parties — such as identity providers and advertising SDKs — are listed in each product's own privacy policy.
5. Retention
We keep website server logs and contact correspondence only for as long as needed for the purpose above or to meet legal obligations. Data held inside a product is retained as described in that product's policy.
6. Deleting your data
To delete a product account and its associated data, follow the steps in that product's policy — for Potato Quest, use the account & data deletion page. For anything else, email contact@starchdevelopment.com and we will help.
7. Children
Our products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Data may be processed in the European Union, the United States, or Australia by our infrastructure providers.
9. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing contact@starchdevelopment.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes affecting a specific product will also be reflected in that product's policy.
