Data We Collect

Potato Quest may collect or process the following data:

  • Account identifiers: an anonymous Supabase user id is created by default. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, your provider account is linked so your scores, coins, crowns, outfits, and purchases can persist across devices.
  • Display name: if you choose a username, it is stored and shown on leaderboards and challenge screens.
  • Gameplay data: scores, game sessions, bracket results, daily challenge results, replay data, equipped outfit items, coins, crowns, and unlockable ownership.
  • Purchase data: Unlimited Pass purchase records and receipt-validation tokens are processed to verify entitlement ownership.
  • Advertising and consent data: Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform may process advertising identifiers, consent choices, and ad interaction data when ads are available.
  • Analytics events: lightweight gameplay and monetisation events may be logged to help understand game balance, feature usage, and release health.
  • Local settings: preferences such as sound, music, haptics, outfit choices, and locally cached scores are stored on your device.

How We Use Data

We use this data to:

  • run leaderboards, the Daily Challenge, Versus, replay playback, and stats;
  • keep your account, coins, crowns, unlockables, and purchases available across devices when you sign in;
  • prevent obvious score/replay abuse and maintain fair leaderboards;
  • deliver rewarded and interstitial ads where enabled;
  • validate in-app purchases and restore entitlements;
  • diagnose issues, improve game balance, and maintain the app.

Third-Party Services

Potato Quest uses the following services:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, replays, leaderboards, matchmaking, stats, and purchase entitlement records.
  • Apple Sign In: optional account sign-in on supported Apple platforms.
  • Google Sign-In: optional account sign-in on supported platforms.
  • Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform: ad delivery and consent handling.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: app distribution and purchase processing.

These services process data under their own privacy policies and terms.

Ads and Consent

Potato Quest may show rewarded ads for extra Daily Challenge or Versus allowances and occasional Solo interstitial ads. Where legally required, the app asks for ad consent before loading ads. You can change relevant consent choices through platform or app-provided consent controls when available.

In-App Purchases

The Unlimited Pass is a non-consumable purchase. Purchase receipts or purchase tokens are sent to the server only to verify and restore the entitlement. The app does not store full payment card details.

Public Leaderboards and Replays

Display names, scores, daily champion records, and replay-derived gameplay data may be visible to other players through in-app leaderboards, ghost races, and replay playback. Do not choose a display name that contains personal information you do not want shown publicly.

Data Retention

We retain account, score, purchase, and leaderboard data for as long as needed to operate the game, maintain fair competition, restore purchases, and provide cross-device continuity. Some replay data may be pruned when it is no longer needed, except where retained for leaderboard, daily champion, or audit purposes.

Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Potato Quest account and the personal data tied to it at any time:

When deletion is processed we permanently remove your profile, username, scores, replays, owned items, coin history, friends, and login identity. Your name is removed from historic leaderboard listings. Purchase and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years where required by law and tax regulations; payment details themselves are held by the app store, not by us. See the deletion page for the full breakdown and timelines.

Children's Privacy

Potato Quest is intended as a general-audience arcade game. The app does not knowingly request personal information from children beyond the account, gameplay, ad, and purchase data needed to operate the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us.

Your Choices

You can:

  • play as a guest using an anonymous account;
  • sign in with Apple or Google for cross-device persistence;
  • avoid choosing a personal display name;
  • manage ad consent where the consent prompt is available;
  • delete your account and data yourself, or request help, via the account & data deletion page — or by emailing harry@veraliving.com.au.
